The book is directed in particular to young people who have passed ten and are in the twenty or thirty; this is because it is generally after ten years that a young man begins to experience this life as a spiritual struggle, as a continuous temptation. He is therefore looking for ways and means to fight the lust of the flesh, the vanity of the world, the suggestions of the devil and win the laurels of life. And it is then that the history of the saints, made of our flesh and blood and like us sinners, but left triumphant through the grace of God and their determined will, can serve as a guide to get us out of the mud, to face the challenge of life and becoming Saints in the eyes of God, even if not always to those of men.
